• Location. It is important to consider where you are using wire connectors. Certain connectors have greater outdoor resistance, particularly against harsh weather conditions. For outdoor use, waterproof wire connectors typically perform best. 
• Size. Every wire has an American Wire Gauge (AWG) size. Interestingly, the smaller the AWG, the thicker the wire. Larger wires can support higher voltages and less electrical resistance.
